Continuing on with the theme of talented female singers from New Zealand, someone who may (or may not of course) be waiting for Kimbra to break the USA is Ruby Frost, a multi-talented singer-songwriter from Auckland (real name: Jane de Jong). She has a marvellous voice which she throws all over the place. But she is not just a singer. She writes interesting songs, and I have not heard one that I haven't thought had at least some merit. There are some very good singles just waiting to get high rotate...but so far the music industry investment appears not to be as committed as it might be - hence Kimbra's success would probably bring copycat capital, and might launch Ruby's career internationally.
