Street Chant have a follow-up album to their debut "Means" due sometime soon. "Frail Girls" is the first single release off the new album and has been out since late 2011. Reviewers have been kind to the band so far, often citing the strong combination of punk influences. I can plainly hear late 1970s New Wave in there, but it doesn't feel derivative, and they have some great hooks. I have read that there is substantial offshore interest so the new album will be important in terms of capitalizing on that interest. "Frail Girls" bodes well for the album's quality.
